Import page data

Content can be uploaded in bulk to speed up the process of populating the App. Content can be imported using spreadsheet templates generated through the Core.

To generate a template for page data import

Templates can be generated for all content page types. Please note fields in these templates are not compulsory.

  1. Navigate to Content from the Navigation Menu
  2. Create a page type you wish to generate a template for
  3. Select Export from the right-hand options

To import page data

Once the page template has been exported and updated with page data, it can then be uploaded to the Core. Please note templates are page-specific and should be used for the same page type they were generated from. For example, a Speaker page template should be used for a Speaker page type.

  1. Navigate to Content from the Navigation Menu and select the relevant page
  2. Select Import from the right-hand options
  3. Click Choose File and select the completed template
  4. Click Validate
  5. Click Import

Exporting page data

Most pages within the app which have the ability to store child pages contain the page exporting feature. Pages which feature the below icon allow data to be exported.

To export data from the current page of the Core, simply click on the export data button. An excel file containing the page’s data will be downloaded.

Note: The export data button will be named to correspond to the page type that is being exported. For example, on a session page it will be titled Export Sessions.

Create a new page

There are multiple ways to add application content to your content manager. It's a good idea to group pages into areas to help manage the content. To learn about grouping pages click here. Secondly determine what type of information you require from, or convey to app users.

By default there will only be an empty single page group named Default, to add a new page to the Default group click on either the Add a Content Page located in the center of the grouping panel, the Add button located top right corner of the grouping panel or Create a New Page within the panel to the right of Default group panel.

A new window Create New Page will appear, this window is laid out by numeric steps and to exit the setup click the Cancel button at anytime through out this process.

  1. Select a page type: Choose the page type you require from the list view
  2. Add a menu icon (optional): In this step you can proceed to create this page by clicking the Create button before initializing the page name and icon. (Note however this page will be hidden from app menu, until added in the App Element > Main Menu). To add this page directly to your applications content from this step click on the check box Create menu icon  by doing this will add new dialog to the window. Click on the image and select an icon from the list (Note if you don't select an icon a default icon will be used on the app). Now in the text box enter the name of your page, now click the Create button.

After you create the content page you will be directed to a details page specific to that page. For example, below is the content editor for an exhibitor page. Different page types will have different fields and content options.

Editing a page

If an existing content page needs to be updated go to Content and select the page which needs to be edited.

This action displays the content page template, make the changes required, then scroll to the bottom and save.

Adding a page header

Page headers can be added to individual pages. If they are left blank, they will inherit the global page header which is set in App Appearance > Content Design.

To add a new header, select the page from the Content section of the Core.

Next, select the details tab and click the + icon to add the page header.

Note: the page header must be 720px x 405px.

In some page types you will need to scroll to the bottom of the details page to find the option to add the page header. For example the About Page, shown in below screenshot:

Container Pages

There are a series of container pages in the Core that house a group of content pages. When creating a content page in the Core, some page types will automatically create a container page and additional sub-pages will need to be created within it. For example, an exhibitor page type will house a list of exhibitor subpages.

Page redirects

Page Redirects allow attendees to be automatically redirected from one page to another upon opening a page. A common use for these redirects is to create sub-menus using container pages (especially Blank Groups) that link to other container pages or specialty pages (e.g. Weather page type), know as Page Nesting.

Note: The page content you are redirecting will not be seen in the app. That page is simply acting as a sub-menu item. For example, a Blank Group contains the options Cafes & Restaurants, Precinct Attractions and Weather. Each of these pages will be redirected to other blank groups and specialty pages and, therefore, will not display any page content for the initial blank group (e.g. Click 'Cafes & Restaurants' and be taken directly to the 'Cafes & Restaurants' blank group).

To create a page redirect:

  1. Navigate to Content from the Navigation Menu
  2. Select the page you wish to place a page redirect on
  3. Navigate to Redirect this page from the right-hand options
  4. Select a Target Page you wish to redirect to
  5. Click Save

Please note:  Page Redirects are very simple and as such, cannot take into account any form of profile-specific or custom logic – refer to Smart Redirects.

Exporting page QR codes

QR codes can be exported for pages within the app, which when scanned will open that page within the app.

To export QR codes for pages, simply click the ‘Get QR Code’ button at the top of the edit contents page. The QR code will open in a popup box where it can then be saved to your computer by right clicking on the code and clicking Save image as.

Reordering pages

Content pages which have sub pages, such as agenda, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors can be reordered.

Go into the content page group. And select the up/down arrow icon for options.

Sort by field:

Select the field that you would like to automatically order by, then select whether you would like pages in ascending or descending order. Clicking save will automatically reorder pages based on your selections.

Manual sort:

To reorder pages using manual sort, simply click and drag the pages into the desired order. Clicking save will apply the sort.

Deleting a page

Pages can be easily deleted from within the Core by hovering over the page that you want to delete and clicking delete page. You will be asked to confirm the deletion.

WARNING: Once deleted pages cannot be restored.

Configure blank group display options

Blank groups are one of the most versatile page types. This container page of blank pages can act as a secondary menu, a list or simply a collection of pages. For example, a blank group could be used to list Attendee Information such as registration desk opening times, and parking or transport information. Alternatively, it could be used to list accommodation information.

To style a blank group

  1. Navigate to Content from the Navigation Menu and select the blank group
  2. Click the Details Tab
  3. Navigate to Cell Style and select a style from the drop-down (see cell styles below)
  4. Click Save

Each blank group page type has a cell style. This cell style controls how the blank group will appear. There are several different cell style types including:

Organising view with page groups

You may find that the list of pages with your app gets quite cluttered with larger apps. To combat this you are able to add page groups to group related content pages.

To add a page group – click the Create a new page group button.

Then enter a name for the group when prompted.

You can now move pages between groups with the Change group button which appears next to the delete button when hovering over a page item.

To edit a page group, click on the title of the group. From here you can also delete the group if empty.

Mapping rooms on a floor plan
