Zoom Only Live Streaming [Event Organiser Guide]

A Zoom Meeting can be configured as the broadcasting service, which links directly into the Entegy CMS as a distribution platform.


As the Event Organiser, you are responsible for configuring the behind the scenes settings to ensure the session will run smoothly during the event. You will need to:

  1. Generate JWT in Zoom Marketplace
  2. Create a Zoom Meeting or Webinar
  3. Provide Details to Entegy Account Manager
  4. Generate Stream URL
  5. Input Stream URL into the Entegy CMS for session
  6. Share the Zoom Meeting Details with Session Facilitators and Session Speakers 


Generate JWT in Zoom Marketplace

The Zoom API uses JWT to authenticate account-level access. Generating a JWT allows you to access the Zoom Meeting via the Entegy Webapp. Without the JWT, Entegy does not have access to the Zoom Servers to access the Zoom Meeting.

A JWT must be created for each Zoom account used for Zoom Live Streaming in the Entegy platform.  

Please note

Your Zoom Account must be a paid account (e.g. NOT a free/Basic Account) to access Zoom Marketplace

To create a JWT on Zoom Marketplace

  1. Login to your Zoom account at: https://marketplace.zoom.us/develop/create?source=devdocs
  2. Navigate to JWT and click Create

  3. Complete descriptive and contact information (e.g. company name, short description etc.)
  4. Input Developer Contact name and email
  5. Click Continue
  6. Generate App Credentials
    1. Copy the API Key and API Secret details to keep them handy for future reference
  7. Click Continue
  8. Click Continue
  9. Follow the prompts and activate your app

Create a Zoom Meeting or Webinar

A new Zoom Meeting must be scheduled for each session in the event schedule. Each of these sessions will have their own access details that will need to be provided to speakers for that session. 

To create a Zoom Meeting:

  1. Log into https://zoom.us/ 
  2. Click Schedule a Meeting from the top menu bar
  3. Input all the relevant meeting details including Title, Date and Time
  4. Ensure the Zoom Meeting has a Password
  5. Click Save


Provide Details to Entegy Account Manager

Once the JWT and the Zoom meeting are created, you will need to send project and Zoom details for your Entegy Account Manager. This will create the link between the Entegy CMS and your Zoom account. 

Please provide the following details:

  • Zoom JWT API Key
  • Zoom JWT API Secret
  • Project Number

Once these are provided, the Entegy Team will configure your project for live streaming and will provide the Project ID needed in the next step. 

Please note

Without this step, you will be unable to connect the Entegy CMS with your Zoom account


Generate Stream URL

The following URL must be updated with Zoom session details as outlined below:


These details include the Project ID, Zoom apiKey, Zoom Meeting ID/Number and the Meeting Password. 

Project ID - This will be provided to you by Entegy. This is a unique string of characters that represent your event in the Entegy CMS.

apiKey - This can be copied from the Zoom App Market place under the Zoom Developer account.


Meeting Number - This unique meeting identifier provided by zoom for every meeting.

Pwd - Password for the meeting corresponding to the meeting number. This can be found in the Join Meeting URL.

E.g. The information can be found in the Join Meeting URL: https://us02web.zoom.us/j12312341234?pwd=NURjYkFpQ21CV1JNT3REK3RXQnVTQT09 

Meeting ID: 123 1234 1234


The Stream URL for each session will be unique and must be updated with unique session information. 

Please note

If changing the APIKey the Zoom Developer needs to provide the corresponding apiKey and Secret to be updated by Entegy, and the meetings to be scheduled under this Zoom App created.


Input URL into the Entegy CMS for the session and configure Session Live Streaming

To input Stream URL into session:

  1. Navigate to the relevant session
  2. Navigate to Live Streaming Provider Link and input the URL
  3. Navigate to Live Streaming Provider Type and select the relevant option from the drop-down menu
    1. HLS - takes a HTTP Live Streaming URL - eg Mux or anything similar
    2. Iframe Partial View - put the stream into an iframe at the top of the page that scrolls with the session info (e.g. Vimeo, Zoom) 
    3. Iframe Full view - put the stream into a frame that takes up the whole left part and doesn't show any session info (e.g., Zoom).
    4. External Link - a link at the top of the session to open in a new window. (E.g. Could create a zoom link that opens in the native Zoom application).
  4. Click Save

This step is to be completed with a unique Stream URL for each session.

To configure the Session Live Streaming:

  1. Navigate to Project Configuration > Schedule from the Navigation Menu
  2. Select the Session Settings tab
  3. Navigate to How to open streaming links - WebApp Only 
  4. Select Current Window - Stream with Interactive Sessions from the drop-down menu
  5. Click Save


Share the Zoom Meeting Details with Session Facilitators and Session Speakers

Once the Zoom Meetings and CMS sessions are configured, the Zoom Meeting details will need to be shared with session facilitators and session speakers. This will ensure the facilitator and speaker have the relevant information for their session, including access details, and some instructions for how to manage their Zoom Meeting. Please note

Each session has its own set of access credentials. Speakers will need access to the relevant Zoom Meeting using the appropriate meeting invitation.

To share the Zoom Meeting details:

  1. Navigate to the relevant Zoom Meeting 
  2. Click Copy the Invitation
  3. Click Copy Meeting Invitation
  4. Distribute the relevant details to speakers
