Attendees can check themselves into a session. This can either be achieved by physically scanning a badge/ticket at an automated scanning station, or through the Event App.
This can be setup to achieve:
- Attendees to scan and track attendance
- Attendees to earn points for scanning
- Track CPD
The Event App with profile login is required for self check-in through the app.
This method is not recommended for tracking CPD. This method is not as accurate as staff scanning attendees, however, motivated attendees will ensure their attendance is tracked for relevant sessions.
If using session access rules, this method is not recommended. As attendees can scan themselves, they are not likely to be responsible enough to not enter a session that has denied them access. If the event organiser is strict with ticket-only entry using access rules, staff to scan is the best method to monitor admittance.
This method are not recommended for tracking CPD.
Automated Scanning Stations
When attendees are checking in at an automated scanning station, they can scan their badge/ticket to register their attendance. These scanning stations will utilise the Track app for scanning.
Tracking session groups are best utilised with this option, as it allows a scanning station to be setup and left throughout the course of the day. Each session in the tracking session group will automatically change from one to the next based on session time.
Check-in Through the Event App
When attendees are checking in through the Event App, all attendees must be logged into their personal profile in the Event App to scan session QR codes. The Track app is not used for this method.
This option does not limit attendees from checking themselves into all sessions, even if they have not attended. If you are wanting accurate data, it is recommended to use the Staff to Scan option instead.
