Managing App Icons on the Main Menu

The App Main Menu allows you to create menu items for your content pages and other features to be displayed on your App home screen.

There are several default styles of icons to choose from in the CMS, or you can upload your own custom-designed icons. These icons can then be edited, sorted, made inactive, or removed from the Main Menu.

Icons can be reordered, renamed, deleted or have a new icon assigned to it. Icons are split into two categories: Active Menu Icons and Inactive Menu Icons.

  • Active Menu Icons are those icons that will display in-app, with 9 icons per page
  • Inactive Menu Icons can be setup and linked to content pages ready to be made live, but they will not display in the App.

To reorder icons

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click the arrow icon on the configuration panel
  3. Click and drag icons into the order required
  4. Click Save

 

To rename an icon

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click the icon you wish to rename
  3. Input a new Icon Title
  4. Click Save

 

To delete an icon

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click the icon you wish to delete
  3. Click Delete
  4. Confirm by clicking Delete

 

To select a new icon image

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click the icon you wish to change
  3. Click the Icon Image
  4. Select new icon
  5. Click Save

 

Add content pages to app menu icons

To access any App content, content pages need to be linked to icons on the main menu.

To add content pages to app menu icons

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click + to open New Menu Item window
    *Recommend you start at the bottom of this window at Target Page
  3. Select a Target Page
    1. Click Coming Soon Message
    2. Navigate to Content and Click + Expand
    3. Select the relevant Content page from the list
  4. Select an Icon Image
  5. Input an Icon Title
  6. Click Save

If a content page is not ready to be linked to an icon yet, the icon can still be added to the main menu with a holding message. Content pages can be added to these icons later.

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click + to open New Menu Item window
    *Recommend you start at the bottom of this window at Target Page
  3. Select a Target Page
    1. Click Coming Soon Message
    2. Navigate to Features and Click + Expand
    3. Select Coming Soon Message
  4. Select an Icon Image
  5. Input an Icon Title
  6. Click Save

 

Add features to app menu icons

To access any App features, they will need to be added to icons on the main menu.

To add features to app menu icons

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Click + to open New Menu Item window
    *Recommend you start at the bottom of this window at Target Page
  3. Select a Target Page
    1. Click Coming Soon Message
    2. Navigate to Features and Click + Expand
    3. Select the relevant Feature from the list
  4. Select an Icon Image
  5. Input an Icon Title
  6. Click Save

Manage Custom Icons

If you require a more unique icon to be displayed from the menu of your app rather than the icon designs available in the CMS you can upload your own custom icons.

Custom icons must be 171x128px in png format.

  1. Navigate to App > Main Menu from the Navigation Menu
  2. Select Manage Custom Icons from the right-hand options

 

The next screen will show Upload Icons and Existing Custom Icons (if you have not uploaded, these fields will be blank).

To add an icon, open a directory to where your custom icon is stored on your local machine, click on the icon, then drag and drop the icon within the grey Drop icons here to upload.
