How to configure the activity feed
The Activity Feed can be easily configured to suit your event. Configure how attendees will interact in the Activity Feed (through page commenting or contributing directly to the feed), and manage reported or inappropriate posts.
To configure the activity feed
- Navigate to Attendee Connect > Activity Feed from the Navigation Menu
- Configure the following options
- Click Save
Page title The title of the page in the app. It is recommended that this matches the title given to the icon on the Main Menu.
Allow users to post statuses Set this to Yes for attendees to contribute directly to the Activity Feed. If this is set to No, attendees can’t contribute to the feed directly, but will be able to reply to threads and comment on any page commenting is allowed on.
Allow commenting on Allow attendees to leave comments directly on different pages in the Core. These comments will appear in the Activity Feed and can be commented on by other attendees. The following pages can allow commenting:
- Session pages
- Speaker pages
- Exhibitor pages
- Sponsor pages
To manage reported or inappropriate posts
If an attendee posts something inappropriate to the Activity Feed, it can be managed in various ways.
Reported comments Fellow attendees may choose to report an inappropriate comment to the event organiser through the app. Reported comments will appear in the Core and can be deleted from there. Note: If a comment is reported, it will remain part of the Activity Feed until deleted by the event organiser.
- Navigate to Attendee Connect > Activity Feed from the Navigation Menu
- Select the Reported Comments tab
- Click the drop-down of the reported comment and select from the following:
- Allow Comment Leave the comment in the Feed
- View Full Thread View all comments and any relevant pages this comment originated from
- Delete Comment Remove the comment permanently from the Feed
Delete comments from the Core Inappropriate comments can be deleted directly from the Core, even if the comment has not been reported.
- Navigate to Attendee Connect > Activity Feed from the Navigation Menu
- Select the Preview tab
- Navigate to the comment to be deleted
- Click the drop-down and select Delete
- Confirm by clicking Delete
