FAQ: What are the default point allocations for Attendee Connect?

A: Points are enabled by default when the Attendee Connect element is activated. While achievements appear in the App showing attendees can earn them, points are accrued in the background. If you wish to share with your attendees how they can earn more points, copy and paste the below into a page in the App. Point allocations may need to be updated if these have been changed by the event organiser.

Points are earned by completing specific actions within the app, such as messaging another delegate or posting a status - the more you use the app, the more points you'll get!

FAQ: How should I start my activity feed?

A: Once the activity feed is configured, any statuses or comments posted will appear in the feed.

It is recommended that a welcome status be posted to the activity feed by an organiser to start your activity feed. This post can introduce attendees to the activity feed, explain a little about what it is and how to use it.

To do this, a profile can be set up for the specific event/organiser, and the post can come from that profile.

Some suggested copy:

'Welcome to the {insert conference name} Activity Feed! Be sure to introduce yourself and share your thoughts and photos throughout the event'

FAQ: How do I run a leaderboard competition?

A: Leaderboard competitions can be a great way to encourage engagement through the App. The leaderboard and points can be enhanced when coupled with other Elements such as Lead Capture and other Attendee Connect features. 2. Configure point allocations
  3. Create default achievements
  4. List point allocations in the App

A: Only you are the person you message can see the messages that are sent.

FAQ: What do attendees need to know about Attendee Connect?

A: We know it’s important to keep your attendees in the loop. Here are some things to keep in mind when sending communication to your attendees about Attendee Connect:

  • How will your attendees be logging in?
  • How will you be communicating this login method to your attendees?
  • What do your attendees need to know about the Attendee Connect features?
    • How to use the Activity Feed
    • Potential prizes for scoring highly on the leaderboard
    • How to message another attendee
    • How to use the Profile List to find fellow attendees and message them

FAQ: Can I accept registrations without having the registration element active?

A: For those smaller projects, a lite alternative exists to substitute the paid Registration element. The basic Signup Form allows for relevant user data to be captured and imported directly into the Core to allow for login and unrestricted access to an app that may otherwise be locked to the public. This feature is located under Project Configuration. Refer to the In-app Signup Form article for more.

A few options are readily available for configuration, being;

  • the form’s title and status,
  • the registration complete heading and accompanying message,
  • and, the ability to toggle on email confirmation and adjust the email subject (the appearance of these emails is altered under Project Configuration > Emails > Design
