Profile settings and permissions can be updated on a per attendee level, or in bulk.
These updates include profile privacy settings, profile information etc.
Permission settings contain several options relating to how the attendee’s profile will display within the app:
- Visible in Profile List - This field controls whether the attendee profile will be visible within the app profile list. Setting this field to No will make the profile not appear.
- Allow Messaging - This field controls whether the profile can receive messages from other attendees. Setting this field to No will prevent this profile from receiving messages.
- Show Email Address - This field controls whether the attendee’s email address is visible within the app. Setting this field to No hides the email address.
- Show Contact Number - This field controls whether the attendee’s contact number is visible within the app. Setting this field to No will hide the contact number.
- Opt out of Emails - This field controls whether this attendee will receive emails sent via Email Campaigns in the CMS. Setting this field to No will allow them to receive emails. Requires purchase of Email Campaigns to display in the CMS.
- Opt out of SMS - This field controls whether this attendee will receive SMS's sent via Email Campaigns in the CMS. Setting this field to No will allow them to receive SMS. Requires purchase of Email Campaigns to display in the CMS.
Update profile settings per attendee
Sometimes, attendee profile settings will need to be set at a per-attendee level. It is recommended to make changes to profile settings prior to the event to comply with GDPR and other attendee privacy requirements.
Please note
Any changes made in the CMS will override attendee profile settings made in the event app
To update profile settings per attendee:
- Navigate to Profiles > View All from the Navigation Menu
- Select the profile you wish to update
- Navigate to Permissions in the right-hand options
- Click Edit
- Update as required
- Click Save
To update push notification categories per attendee:
- Navigate to Profiles > View All from the Navigation Menu
- Select the profile you wish to update
- Navigate to Notification Categories in the right-hand options
- Click Edit
- Select the relevant push notification categories
- Click Save
Update profile settings in bulk
Using the Bulk Edit Profiles tool in the CMS allows you to update all or groups of attendee data in bulk. This may update details such as profile data (e.g. Profile Type, Profile Fields etc.) or profile settings in bulk. It is recommended to make changes to profile settings prior to the event to comply with GDPR and other attendee privacy requirements.

Any changes made in the CMS will override attendee profile settings made in the event app.
To update profile settings in bulk:
- Navigate to Profiles > View All from the Navigation Menu
- Click Bulk Edit Profiles from the right-hand options
- Select a group of attendees
- Profile Filter (recommended method): Use existing profile data to create groups using profile types and fields etc.
- Excel File: Upload a spreadsheet with a way to match the data to existing profile data in the CMS. Make use of the External or Internal Reference data as a unique identifier.
- Copy/Paste Text: Paste the text into the textbox. Ensure there is a way to match the data to the data pasted into the textbox to existing profile data in the CMS. Make use of the External or Internal Reference data as a unique identifier
- Review the group of attendees to update
- Click Next
- Edit Profile Fields as required
- No Change: Make no changes to the corresponding field
- Clear Field: Clear data from the corresponding field
- Change To..: Edit the corresponding field in bulk
- Edit Permissions as required
- Click Next
- Review changes and accept the Terms and Conditions
- Click Apply Changes
