Configure Email Template

Once the email template has been created, you can begin to design your email template using the various Email Campaigns features. 

 

Outlined below are how to create each of the Email Campaigns features in your email template:

  1. Columns
  2. Text
  3. Buttons
  4. Images
  5. Dividers
  6. Group Social and Social Elements
  7. Spacers
  8. NavBar and NavBar Links
  9. Badge QR Code
  10. Legal Notice


Columns

Columns must be added to your email template in order to add other features to the template. 

Columns can be added as 1 column, 2 columns or 3 columns. This will assist with breaking up content to easily fit the width of your email template.  

TIP:

It is recommended to use 1 Column as this will display best on both web and mobile.

To add a column to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the appropriate column from the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Column into the email template. A green line will indicate where the Column will be placed
  5. Click the Save icon


Text

Text is an important aspect of any email. Text boxes must be added to an existing column block in the email template. 

Once the text block is added, the email copy can then be added and edited as required using the editor tools. Links to external content such as URLs can also be added to the text.

Please note

You MUST have a column in your email template before you can place a text box.

To add a text box to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Text option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Text box into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the Text box will be placed

  5. Click the Save icon
  6. Double click to edit
  7. Add text as required
  8. Click the save icon

To edit the text in a text box:

  1. Double click in the text box and highlight text to be updated
  2. Choose from the basic text edit options (bold, italics, underline and strikethrough)

  3. For advanced features:
    1. Click the paintbrush icon in the right-hand menu
    2. Expand the Typography section
    3. Updated as required

  4. Click the Save icon

To create an in-text link to external content:

  1. Double click in the text box and highlight text to be linked
  2. Click the link icon above the text. This will underline the text and make it blue.
  3. Click the cog icon in the right-hand menu
  4. Double click the hyperlinked text
  5. Input the Href (URL or weblink) and Target (open in the same window, or a new window)
  6. Click the Save icon


Buttons

Buttons can be created to link to an external URL. Buttons might be used to direct attendees to download the event app or link to a website. Buttons must be added to an existing column block in the email template. 

Once the button is added, the link can be updated to direct the attendee to the relevant URL.

To add a button to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Button option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Button box into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the Button box will be placed

  5. Select the Button box
  6. Click the cog icon
  7. Input the Href (URL or weblink) 
  8. Click the Save icon


Images

Images can be inserted into the email template. This might be a simple email header or any other kind of image to enhance the email design.

It is recommended to insert an image into a new separate column box.

Please note

You MUST have a column in your email template before you can place a text box.

To add an image to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Image option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the image into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the image will be placed

  5. Click the Save icon
  6. Double click the image box
  7. Drag and drop your header image into the box, or click the box to find the header image in your files

  8. Once the image has been uploaded, select the image from the right-hand list of images
  9. Click the X in the top right-hand corner of the image pop-up
  10. Click the save icon

 

Dividers

Dividers can be added to the email template to help break up email content. Dividers are a solid line inserted into a column box to break the email into sections. 

Please note

You MUST have a column in your email template before you can place a text box.

To add a divider to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Divider option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Divider into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the Divider will be placed
  5. Click the Save icon

 

Group Social and Social Elements

Group Socials can be added to the email template to insert a collection of links to various social media. By default, when creating a Group Social, links for Facebook, Google+, and Twitter will be created. Icons can be changed individually, and Social URL Links added.

A Social Element creates additional social links within the Group Social. This will create a new icon that can be updated to change both the icon and social URL link.

  • LinkedIn
  • Snapchat
  • Vimeo
  • Tumblr
  • Github
  • SoundCloud
  • Medium
  • Dribble
  • Xing

To add a social group to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Group Social option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Group Social box into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the Group Social box will be placed

  5. Click the Save icon

To add an additional social element:

  1. Select the Social Element option in the right-hand menu
  2. Drag the Social Element box into the email template and appropriate Group Social. A green line will indicate where the Social Element box will be placed

To update social links in Group Social in the email template:

  1. Click the relevant social icon
  2. Click the cog icon
  3. Select the icon from the drop-down
  4. Input the Href (URL or weblink) 
  5. Click the Save icon


Spacers

Spacers can be added to the email template to help break up email content. This will create additional padding between elements in a column box. A Spacer could be used between paragraphs, to separate different elements or content in a column box etc.

Please note

You MUST have a column in your email template before you can place a text box.

To add a spacer to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Spacer option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Spacer into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the Spacer will be placed

NavBar and NavBar Links

The NavBar acts as a menu across the email. This bar can be linked to sections of a lengthy email to assist attendees with finding relevant information. It will evenly space NavBar Links inside the NavBar across the width of the email template.

Add additional links to the NavBar. This will create a new option in the menu list, and will evenly space all options across the width of the email template.

To add a social group to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the NavBar option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the NavBar box into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the NavBar box will be placed

  5. Click the Save icon

To add an additional NavBar Link:

  1. Select the NavBar Link option in the right-hand menu
  2. Drag the NavBar Link box into the email template and appropriate NavBar. A green line will indicate where the NavBar Link box will be placed

  3. Click the Save icon

To update NavBar Links in NavBar in the email template:

  1. Click the relevant NavBar Link
  2. Click the cog icon
  3. Input the Href (URL or weblink) 
  4. Click the Save icon

To update NavBar Link term in NavBar in the email template:

  1. Double-click on the relevant NavBar Link
  2. Make updates to the text
  3. Click the Save icon

 

Badge QR Code

Badge QR Codes can be added to email templates to send an attendee's personal QR code to them. These QR codes utilise the Badge Reference field uploaded for the attendee, and can be used with all Entegy Suite products (e.g. Lead Capture, Kiosk Manager, Attendance Tracking).

Please note

To add a badge QR code to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Badge QR Code option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Bage QR Code into the email template and appropriate column box. A green line will indicate where the Bage QR Code will be placed

  5. Click the Save icon

 

Legal Notice

A legal notice can be added to your email template to ensure the partner or client's legal requirements are communicated. This legal notice can be changed to suit the relevant agreements of the client or event. 

To add a legal notice to the email template:

  1. Navigate to Email Campaigns > Email Templates from the Navigation Manu
  2. Select the relevant email template from the list
  3. Select the Legal Notice option in the right-hand menu
  4. Drag the Legal Notice into the email template. An orange line will indicate where the Legal Notice will be placed at the bottom of the email template

  5. Click the Save icon

To edit the legal notice text:

  1. Double click in the legal notice box and highlight text to be updated
  2. Choose from the basic text edit options (bold, italics, underline and strikethrough)
